Credit Search - Mortgage Quotation

Hi All

I have posted on here over last few weeks regarding a Mortgage Application me and my partner have made. Me having 2 satidfied defaults settled in 2009 and 2010.

The thing is...we went to the bank. Gave her all our details, salaries, debt owing (none) deposit etc and she asked us if she could credit check us.

She left the room, came back with a "mortgage promise" and said we had been approved. She mentioned that the defaults showed up.

The search shows up on Equifax as a search on that day but doesn't mentioned what kind of search andon Experian shows as a "Mortgage Quotation" - Does this mean we are actually approved or could the offer still be revoked due to the Defaults?

Thanks in Advance

Applications tend to fail on a combination of issues rather than one specific one.

So passing the initial hurdle is an encouraging step forward.

So was this an application or just a check? She said we would be in the branch for less next time. It's so blooming confusing!
When I had my first mortgage years ago it was "yes your approved here's the money" Lol!
I think the "approval" may have more to do with my partner being squeaky clean, having a mortgage with them already and us having a 67% cash deposit.

    I hope anyhow!

    Thanks
