Short-listed For Interview

Hi All,
I know this question can be relative, however I've been short-listed for an interview within a large IT firm. To my knowledge there is only one vacancy, does anyone know in general how many people are brought in for interviews?

As many or as little as they likeWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
It depends on the grade of the role (and hiring manager) and how confident they are on getting the right candidate.
When I am hiring I aim to get 3 candidates in from the first batch of CVs that I receive however will potentially short list more than this. If I need someone particularly special for the role I may broaden the search a little but ultimately my time is valuable to me and I dont want to spend all of it interviewing (plus because Im interviewing it means we are short handed so I am probably having to do other peoples work on top of my own as well as interviews)
Back in the call centre days where you get many more applicants with no on paper skills/ experience but the job is easier to do without experience then it tended to be probably about 5 per vacancy as CVs are harder to filter0
