Paying old debts off

I have recently tried to turn around my credit rating after years of abusing it and wanted to check a few things.

I have a couple of default accounts from 2010-11 for really small amounts, one being £39 to t-mobile now I am going to pay them off now that I am in a position that I can and wanted to check what happens to the default.

Does it still show as a default on my file until 2016 or can I have it removed/settled (if you can and how do I do that).

Also by paying my old debts which are defaulted will that improve my credit rating or is it the recent stuff that matters, all the recent debts I have are being paid but I want as much help as I can to improve my rating as I want to look into buying a house in a few years.

Finally is it worth combining all my defaulted debt (around 15k) in a Debt Management plan with pay plan or another free company and just pay a regular monthly figure or should I try to get settlements as and when I can as they are already defaulted.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

  • Does anyone have a phone number or email address for t-mobile customer services.

I only have an account number for my old phone with them and the automated system keeps asking for a phone number which I do not have anymore so cannot get any further when I phone to try and pay and clear a debt I have a default with them on

If all else fails you could write to them.

The main number keeps asking me to supply my mobile number but as it's an old debt I don't have it.

I found an email address on here but that doesn't work either. :(

Do you have a Twitter or Facebook account? There are links to let you message them on those too.
