I don't think the public sector understands the word "cuts" (yet).0 -
LOL recovery indeed!!! I remember the last time a similar figure was mooted the City was celebrating. Perhaps these Tory Toff scum are trying to con us into believing we don't have a triple dip recession as a result of these harmful and dangerous austerity policies!!:mad:#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

Absolute !!!!!!!! that the Public Sector is the very model of inefficiency etc when PRIVATE ORGANISATIONS can be just as tyrannical, bureacratic etc. Private does not equate to good although right wing ideologues would like us to believe it is so.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

I know a couple of area one of which is NHS where front line staff have gone through successive shakedowns, through things like agenda for change. Can't comment on headcount but down banding and much increased flexibility and shift patterns, to improve productivity and reduce cost.
Like the rack it has already been tightened several notches just when it will give who knows.
Our LA lost 20% of staff about 4/5 years ago and is scheduled to lose a further similar amount over the next couple of years too. I don't know whether it has that level of surplus this time round. Last time round a number of roles were outsourced whether that made a real long term saving is hard to tell. I don't have need of their services apart from refuse and ground maintenance. Certainly the refuse vehicles are on contract with many appearing to be "short term" hires. The police budget went up noticeably but then we do have PCCs to pay for now. At least we don't have an elected mayor to pay for."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

If the government said we were back in recession, then you'd believe them. If they say we aren't, you don't. This is nothing to do with what the government say, nor whether you trust what they say, and simply down to the fact that you believe we are in recession no matter what the government or the GDP data say.
Why do you believe we're in recession and where is your data?as a result of these harmful and dangerous austerity policies!
What austerity policies would these be? What spending cuts have been made and how deep have they been? What harm can you show that has been directly caused by these cuts?I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Maybe they can be, but I have never seen it. What I do see is organisations being lead from the top, with a clear vision of what they are striving to achieve, and with a mandate to achieve it on time, to quality, and within budget.
I'm sure many would find working in such organisations far too much like hard work, but that's fine, just don't apply for a job there.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

When or if it gets to something like 1.3% then I will say things are on the up.
Almost there using, 1.2%, using the US model of reporting. Get the bunting ready."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
