Help with picking a pension

Don't see a lot wrong in suggesting someone looking at life stratgey, though allocation is up for debate.
Would have thought this could have been sourced through a personal pension though, avoiding some of the SIPP costs as the SIPP wouldn't be needed for the more exotic investments.0 -

Do your know their age, their tollerance to loss and what other assets/objectives they have?
Guidance on how to find information to make the right decision or be advised is one thing. Misplaced advice is another!
I am sure they would do some research before investing on the advice from someone over the net. I doubt they would look at this advice and say 'I am going to invest in that right now!'.
Personally I don't think there is nothing wrong with suggestions, it gets people thinking and gives them ideas.
This worked for me, I was given several ideas, looked at each, looked at my objectives and picked one that suited me and this turned out to be the VLS because you do not need ANY experience for this type of Investing.:j

You would hope so but I have picked up business many times from people that have followed a media article or a website and made a right pigs ear of it. It has been mentioned before about people who believed the low cost SIPP mantra and invested in funds from a certain SIPP provider that were more expensive than what they already had and had consistently underperformed what they had previously.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
