  • I am in the process of buying him out of the property - its the monthly maintainance that is the issue. I have had the free 30 mins with a solicitor who advised the only way forward would be a costly court case through the High Court, due to where he lives and I don't qualify for legal aid. Think I was just hoping that someone might have had a similar experience and found a way round it. Basically, me and the kids are stoofed !

Yeah.... Sadly i think you are. Keep a eye on the REMO incase Afghan join the process. In the meantime, expect nothing and anything he gives you will be a bonus.

Does he come back often.. See the children?

Just don't hold your breath. The country has to get some form of government first that can achieve a bit of peace in the country. REMO probably doesn't figure in their plans any time in the next 20 years.

Yes, I was about to say the same. With the country the way it is, I should imagine REMO is very low down on their list of priorities!! I notice the op said he gets an army pension, would it be possible to work from that angle? (assuming it's the British Army that is!)

There are people that know about how the Army works, i think it has been raised before and i can't remember the outcome, but the normal response is that pension can be attached...!!!

Again, if you want it dealt with with swiftly and completely use the court not the CSA if you make an application in the Family court for Child Support and he does not live here, they would still have to use the same formula, and if he doesn't attend, then they could (possibly) take into account his income abroad and use the pension to obtain the money...!!!

It may be worth investigating that route... The CSA will not be the best for this, Family court is where i would be...!!!
