You have a new car? On a loan? Can you hand the keys back to the car company and get an older car? That would save you an enormous amount of money a month

Could you get an evening job for a couple of months to boost your income?

The new card was actually cheaper than i was paying for a three year old car which was costing loads in repairs, so it works out better.

Havent bought anything from work all week, which is only been sinceive been using this website. Seems like because im checking this everyday, when the temptation emerges i just think of how upset i would be when i get home and go back on this website. In fact in the last two days i haven't spent a penny, and i have started a spending diary. I hope this is a turning point for me. Also started a 2ps, 1ps and a silver jar! Every little big of change i get goes in there. Extra money goes in to the security tin too.

just wanted to update. Since i last posted i haven't added to the credit card, so this months bill is £80.00 which will be easy to clear. I have cancelled my contact lenses scheme so one payment left on the 1st june then nothing. Wahhoo :T then going to cancell the mobile phone contract on the 1st August. YEAH :T . That month there will be no credit card bill. Still buying at qvc but only buying the big bargins. Mainly as a treat. (A girl has tro have a treat). Get paid on the 27th June so not too bad. Got 240.49 left this month and bills of £174.93 so leaves me with £65.56 and all i need is £4 quid train on monday and £20 petrol to last the rest of the month. Will be left with approx £40 after my first month which is similar but the credit card is LOW!!!!!! yeah. The month after is where is start to see changes. Yipppeeeee.

    Will update soon

To control the buying of stuff you don't NEED, stick an elastic band around your wrist, and when you feel the urge to spend, twang it! Every time you feel the spending urge, twang it again.

The sore red wrist will be a permanent reminder of not to buy stuff you don't need!! Kinda like a pleasure/pain thing :p
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • hi rebecca - keep up the good work! the elastic band thing is a good idea (if a little kinky). i just visualise a debt-free life whenever i'm tempted to buy somethng - usually the urge then passes
