Tax return - employed?

Hi all
I went bankrupt last July and am currently undischarged. I work full time as an employee for a company but have just received a tax return to complete from HMRC which says they need a tax return from me for the tax year in which I was made bankrupt - does everybody receive one of these when bankrupt? Just a bit confused as I thought they would have all my records through my wage slips and employer each month? I dont have a tax IPA in place either.
It is my one and only job but some years back I did a small amount of self employed work that didnt warrant any payment of tax but I declared it and filled out a self assessment form - now HMRC keep telling me I need to fill one out each year BUT I have sent them several letters explaining that I havent been self employed in years!
Thanks

I would ring them and explain. I used to be self employed and they sent me the self assessment forms quite a few times after I went into employment. I just phoned them each time and said I am no longer self employed and pay all my tax through PAYE.
Do tell them though, don't just ignore the it.
