Help needed with credit report!
Hello,
I've recently signed up to Equifax's free trial as I'm thinking of buying a car, and have been turned down for credit cards in the last couple of months. I've noticed two things about my report that have got me wondering:
Firstly, my car insurance isn't listed at all, why would this be? I've paid it monthly for the last few years.
Secondly, I got my first phone contract when I still lived with my parents and had free home Internet as part of the deal. This free Internet carried on for years, and even when i moved out, Orange continued supplying my free Internet to my parents home. Last year Orange decided to stop the free Internet so my dad made a new agreement with them for home Internet, which orange left in my name (although they only ever spoke to my dad which seems a little odd considering all the data protection stuff they make me go through when I want anything!). Anyway, this new agreement is now listed on my credit report and I'm worried that it looks odd that I have accounts at two addresses and that this is why I'm being turned down for credit. Does anybody know whether this would effect my chances? I don't want to apply if its likely I'll get rejected.
Thanks in advance

The car insurance might not be listed as maybe the insurer doesnt report to equifax, I could be wrong but I thought an entry was made on your report when you got quotes and that was it but Im not sure if paying monthly changes this.0

I've paid monthly for car insurance for years and never ever seen a credit entry on my file. Plenty of searches however (especially if you use the comparison sites).0

Ah right well that's ok then.
Does anybody know whether it would make a difference to lenders that I have this account in my name at another address?0 -

I don't know about Car but my monthly Home insurance from Barclays shows on my credit file as a loan.I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.
Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!0
