JSA - proceeds of sale discounted?

I am trying to find out if the proceeds from the sale of my house will be discounted when applying for income-based JSA.
I am looking for a property to buy at about the same value as my recent sale. In the interim, will my claim be rejected out of hand simply because I have more than £16,000 in the bank?
The infuriating thing is that it is impossible to contact a human at the DWP by telephone to clarify this point. I do not want to go through the rigmarole of applying just to ascertain this very simple point.
Can anyone help?

I would like to move but thought I had no chance whilst claiming JSA. Do you own your house outright? Otherwise how are you planning on transferring the mortgage?0

Money from the sale of premises which were lived in as the home is disregarded to give a person time to buy other premises if the person is going to
1. use the money to buy premises and
2. live in those premises as the home.
The period of disregard is 26 weeks or longer if it is reasonable from the date of sale
