'The Martian – the most gripping book I’ve read in a long time...' blog discussion
I bought the book last night, before I saw this thread! I get sci-fi "recommendations" on my Amazon account and for 77p, I thought it was worth a punt.
I shall read it immediately....well, I will when I've finished "Life of Pi" (another Kindle bargain at 20p )
PS: Anyone who likes reading about Mars should try the "Red Mars" trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson.

The Martian was an absolutely fantastic book. Well, well worth the 77p. Cheers for the recommendation, Martin.
Its absolutely made by the caustic sense of humour the author injected into Mark Watney. Also found I ended up going virtually cover to cover in one sitting.
For anyone else thinking about getting it, today's it's last day on the kindle store...
