I would think that various organisations would cherry pick the parts they want, like with credit cards, remember Egg and marbles. The banking part would be the concern though who would take our cashminder accounts, barclays does spring to mind or could the co op do what Llouds is having to do and a new creation will happen like TSB.
Cant believe that we would have our cashminder accounts closed down with no solution can you imagine the fall out especially as it is likely to fall close to the general election time in 2015.0 -

I hope they don't pull out as I need the Debit Card facility their cashminder account offers me that my HSBC basic account does not. I enjoy having both accounts and it helps me manage my finances better.
I would assume another bank would take over the current/cashminder accounts but could be a bit difficult if it's a bank you have a debt with in your IVA or BMP....0 -
Hi guys
I heard the Radio 4 Robert Peston piece as well and got a bit jittery as a Co-op Cashminder customer.
However, later on that night's BBC1 news, the new CEO of the Co op banking explained pull out of Lloyds deal but said that the Co op would not pull out of banking.
He said they'd been in it since God was a boy, it was a core business for them etc etc.
Still, he is a banker so I guess all that has to be taken with a pinch!
Hope that helps.
Best
