What is a £200,000 house likely to be worth in 30 years time?

I guess this questions is like how long is a piece of string, but say if one were to have a house valued at £200,000, and no house crashes were to happen, what would it likely be worth in 30 years time?

Obviously depends where you are but prices historically have doubled every 10-15 years, so if you "assume" they will double twice, it could be worth £800,000?

Maybe you should start a poll, the person guessing closest gets the house in 30 years?

And a loaf of bread will cost a tenner.

    More than likely.

Read a book called Safe as Houses by Neil Monnery

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Houses-Historical-Analysis-Property-Prices/dp/1907994017/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1366800268&sr=8-1&keywords=neil+monnery

Its a 200 year review of house prices in a number of countries and is fascinating. However it won't tell you what a house will be worth in 30 years time. You would need to ask Mystic Meg, however if she was any good she would be running a Cayman Islands based Hedge Fund rather than writing horoscopes for the Sun.
  • How long is a piece of string....

You could not possibly predict that.

£200000 would buy 151515 of his best loaves from our local baker. So my guess is that the house will be worth round about 151515 loaves then.
Free the dunston one next time too.
