Thank you Martin - Mortgage Exit fees. Halifax success

Halifax are sending me £35 - difference between the indicated fee at the start of the mortgage and the actual fee I was charged. I've asked them to consider interest as I surrendered that mortgage 4 years ago.
That was done all over the phone. At the end of a quick phone call I was £35 better off!
Portman have asked me to write in. I took the mortgage out in 2003 and paid it off in 2005, so I'll see what that brings.
Is there any mileage in looking at an earlier Halifax mortgage taken out in 1987 and repaid in 1994?
