Hi guys, me again!
So got my offer and all is hunky dorybut seller still hasn't instructed solicitor. Some *ahem* assertiveness on my part has got the EA to admit seller can't find anywhere to go. I'd alreadygot twitchy and booked viewing but current EA does not have anything suitable.
My question is this, what can I do about my mortgage offer if I used first EA agent to get it? Is it as simple as calling Halifax myself and changing property details?
I don't want to pullout but as I said to EA, both he and the seller knew from word go that I have to move by second week of June and they've now admitted this is very unlikely.

If you go direct it's a new application. Your existing offer I'd got house A, if you find another home you need to go thru the EA for a change to property amendments.
Rates are lower direct anyway, I'd happily pi*s the in house advisor off and go direct.0 -
Only prob with going direct is that Halifax require you to have a salary funded bank account with them for anything ever 85% LTV. They didn't require this through a broker.0

I'd double check that if I were you. Having a salary funded account can mean preferential rates and unlikely to discriminate. Prove me wrong by all means but I have never heard of that before, they'd bite your hand off.0

Hi i had to do this went with a mortgage broker with estate agent halifax, anyways my MIP came back relatively low so rang up halifax to query it as MB dint seem to listen to me properly. Anyways had to reapply through them directly actually got offered a quiet abit more. Yes it is 85% LTV i have this but im getting a mortgage through them and my bank is lloyds . Though if you have account with them paying over 1000 in a month you get 150 cashback ontop of the 500 you already get for taking a mortgage with them. Its not compulsary though.0
