I am not saying the picture is bad in comparison to other DVD players, but I thought it was shockingly bad in comparison to my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablet. They both have same 7 inch screen size.

I don't know how it compares to other portable DVD players because I never owned one before and I did not know what to expect. For £30 I am very happy with this purchase. I totally recommend it.

Portable DVD screen resolution 480 x 234. Your Galaxy Tab 1024 x 600. And £150 compaired to 30 quid.
Screens on most of the cheaper dvd players are generally much lower than tablets, but perfectly acceptable for car journeys and for kids. And has the option of AV out to connect to a TV.

To power in the car how about using the included mains charger with a small 12v inverter. Maplin often have these on 'special'.

I bought one for my Grandson just before I posted the offer and am thrilled with it so far , picture quality seems fine to me and he absolutely loves it

It seems a very robust machine , great for little ones and plays some DVD's that even the DVD player won't play! ( slightly scratched ones )
