As the title says really - has anyone seen bottles of kirsch in any of the big supermarkets or chains? I might be blind but I can never seem to track any down and I'd really like some for a recipe.

I'm sure I've seen it in Waitrose - no idea of price though.
*** ah, here it is http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/waitrose-price-comparison/Spirits/Kirsch_Flask_200ml.html quite pricey though - have you looked at Amazon? ***0 -

I would try Lidl as I've found apfelschnapps and ouzo in there before now.0

I bought some from Tesco, as I use it for cheese fondue.
It's in quite a small bottle with the spirits.
What recipe are you using it for?0 -
Thank you all... I saw it on the waitrose website after I posted so I went to my local to see if they had any but they don't stock it
Sainsburys don't even list it on their website so I don't hold out a lot of hope of finding it in the shop.
Thanks for suggesting lidl and amazon - I'll have a look!
I use it for a couple of things including a cheesecake, blackforest cake and home-made truffles. It's generally lovely with anything chocolate! You can also use it in cocktailsCommon sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
I've bought it in Sainsburys but I noticed it in Bargain Booze the other week and it was a few pounds cheaper. Might be worth a look in B&M, as they tend to stock things like that (but I haven't been in and looked, so don't take my word for it). Made the Delia black forest roulade last year and the big jar of cherries were actually in kirsch, so I used that

Thank you folks, I found a big bottle (70cl) in Lidl today - oddly not in the aisle with spirits though, it was on a shelf above one of the freezers next to a load of random stuff.
Time to get baking now!Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0
