Just been to Carlisle and the Hawkins Bazaar store is closing down, and have everything half price. There is nothing about it on the website, so I assume it's only that store.

I'd say it's not worth making a trip from Durham, I've visited the shop and it's quite small, so even at 50% off you might not find much you wanted.

I was in there yesterday and some items already showing as reduced on shelf labels are halved again.I only bought some sliding puzzles, £3 down to £1.48, then halved to 74p, and a couple of books reduced to £2.48 and halved to £1.24. Lots of things for party bags or stocking fillers. HTH
