Disputed debt, what to ask for.

I have found a debt on my credit report for Lowell portfolio, having no idea what this is I today phoned them and was told they are a collection agency and the debt was a 3 mobile contract.

I have never had a 3 mobile contract so am really confused about it all.

I explained this and all they could say was that I was liable for the debt as its my name and address, they said payments were made in 2011 and I know that wasn't me, this is the first I heard of it.

What do I need to do or ask them for, I asked to see the contract and they told me there wasn't one as the contract was taken out over the phone so nothing was signed. Can they really set up a contract without a signature?

you may have been a victim of ID theft. Therefore you should put a note on your credit file.

( I have already posted on another thread) but I have just noticed your post, ProtegeMoi.
I am now in exactly the same situation as you were back in April, same debt company same non existent 3 mobile contract!
I really would like to know what you did and your result, as I don't seem to be getting anywhere, even after sending them 'a prove it' letter.
I would be grateful any help as it is very stressful to receive something like this.
