I have 1-2 evenings a week (approx 3-4 hours per eve) to try & make money! Best way?

I will have 1-2 evenings a week at least free per week to spend time online & trying to up my earnings as I plan to go to University in September so want to try & maximise my earnings as best I can before then!

I have managed to find everything I have available to ebay & ebaying it currently.

So just wondered what other ways there are of making money online, if you have say 6-8 hours a week to spend on it?

Really depends on what skills you have.

Proofreading or writing for someone like textbroker might be a possibility - but you would be dependent on work being available at the time.

You could try setting up blogs or websites and adding AdSense or other affiliate links to them and then spend the time blogging/updating them.

I've been looking at textbroker, clickworker and dooyoo. I've also been reading the blogging and affiliate marketing threads.

With textbroker once you get rated and do the work it's guaranteed that you'll be paid for your time. But if you don't work you won't make any money.

Blogging/affiliate marketing it's more of a risk, time wise. You could set up a blog and not get any visitors so not make any money, or not make much. It could work out a very low hourly rate.

On the other hand, the work you're doing for textbroker will end up on a blog or affiliate marketing site somewhere. If the client thinks they can pay 5 - 15 euros for the text and use that text to make a profit why not work towards cutting out the middle man.(obviously not reuse text that's already been sold)

A blog has the potential to bring in long term residual income. You'll have regular visitors who come back each week to see what's been posted, plus people who Google could land on a blog post months or years old.

I'm thinking of doing what I can on the other sites, while working on a blog idea.

When I have a bit of spare cash, I'm going to look at the match betting again.

If you have good writing skills you can try to sell articles on fiverr. The intial gigs don't pay too well for the amount of work but the profit is in upselling.
  • Writing for sites like textbroker can be pretty good for picking up a few £££s here and there. If your free time is in the evenings you might want to look at selling to the US market as you'll be online during their 9-5 (around 2-10pm GMT).

Blogging/websites can be a very good income source but can take a long time and a lot of hard work to get established. If you're looking for a middle route then sites like Squidoo and Hubpages offer opportunities for residual income. You get a head start on search engine rankings but they will take a % of your earnings in exchange.

If you don't want to write you might try browsing Elance/Fiverr/Odesk or similar sites to see if you have any in-demand skills. Are you handy with Photoshop or Excel for example? Can you work with HTML or CSS? There is plenty of demand for different skills but you might find you need a good selling point to stand out from the crowd.

    Good luck!
