  • Okay, great. Thanks for all of the help.

Should I ring them to let them know that I'll be sending a letter? Don't want them to think that I'm ignoring this. Also: how do I arrange a payment plan in writing? I was planning to do at least this stage over the phone.

    Thanks!

As fatbelly says, never ring them. Letter takes a few days and they rely on the fact they scared you and you will ring to arrange and they will try and bully you to pay more etc.

  • Hi :)
Having dealt with Cougar myself, do everything in writing, absolutely nothing via phone and DO NOT sign any of your letters, sign them electronically or like I did, not at all.

How old is your credit card account? Cougar have a habbit of messing things up (if you search for my topics, you can see I had a little fun with them :D ) and in the end they even passed my account back to Capital One, in fact I never paid Cougar but C1 one always direct.

Cougar also have a habbit of harrassing you by phone, even if you send them letters about payment options etc. I did send them a quick harrassment letter and also a 'do not visit me' letter.

At the end of my saga with them, I even got a appology letter :rotfl:
