Blimey! Can this drive be used with a PC too? I thought I'd read it was a USB add-on for the Xbox, so will it work as a plug-in drive under XP? I imagine you could even have it to bits and put the bare drive inside the PC if you wanted.
Cheap way to add HD to the kid's PC next to the telly if it does!

the 360's HD-DVD drive is just a standard IDE drive in a USB enclosure. I think they use some weird miniature IDE connector, but adapters are available so that you can mount it in a 5.25" bay inside your PCI have nothing better to do!!!!0 -
Yes - I've just Googled "Xbox HD-DVD drive under Windows" and there's a massive amount of information about how to successfully configure it for use as an external drive under XP. I think I might get one of these and have a play - £99 is a fantastic price for a HD-DVD drive, even if you haven't got an Xbox! 0
