advise needed

hi had a telephone call off OR last week stating the amount i am expected to pay each month for the next 3yrs, and i can't see where they get these figures from. first of all they are expecting my DH to pay £300 a month more than what he contributes now even though he has his own debts. i feel as if they driving him to BR aswell. how long will it take before i see what figures they have put together spoke to CAB and she said that she not heard of OR asking for more from partner/spouse? am totally confused

They normally expect a partner to contribute 50% of the household bills and groceries etc. unless their income is less then they would be expected to contribute a proportionate amount. Unfortunately, they don't take into account the debts the partner has also run up. If the partner has run up debts and cannot afford to contribute the 50% (or proportionate amount) then they could consider a debt remedy themselves, for example a DMP or similar or BR themselves.

You'd need to post up your SOA here before we could advise you as to what an OR is likely to accept and whether you have a case to refuse the IPA.
