SA refund status "not yet used"

Hi ladies and gents

i filed my return on the 6th april online as i do most years.
When i go into my account i select "view account" then "payments/credits recieved" and i select the one for this year.
for the last 2 weeks under the "allocated to" part it says "not yet used"
I know this can be a busy time for the tax office and i was hoping for some advice on what this could mean before i call the tax office.

Many thanks in advance

Have you requested the repayment ? What does the 'current position' tab say?

"You have overpaid. £xxxxx is available for repayment."
I requested payment on the 8th. ive just never seen the "not yet used" part before and i had heard that repeatedly requesting repayment just delay's things even more.

It just means... Not yet used, not used for a liability or repaid

I'd phone them up and ask the HMRC what it means.

Just off the phone with hmrc.

My account has been selected for security checks (3rd year) in a row now but its never taken more than 2-3 weeks to be processed.

The guy said he would pass on a message that i had called to have them look at mine as a priority and to have them contact me regarding this ..... lol

I would assume that if this is just the usual random security check by time they had contacted the relevant department i would usually have had my payment before then, so im thinking there may be something on my file he didnt divulge or im just over thinking this lol
  • Did you end up getting your payment - how long did it take

From the HED : HMRC English Dictionary

    HMRC - security checks
    English - slow pay
    Hideous Muddles from Right Charlies
  • I know they are very very slow but does this term not yet used meaning my repayment hasn't been allocated mean it wont be paid or it will be in time??? just don't understand
