Amazon / Ebay arbitrage is a breach of both set of terms and conditions. You will probably get banned whilst scrabbling around for a few pence profit once you've paid the fees and shipping costs.

Oh, and of course what happens when you try to fill the ebay order and the item is no longer available on Amazon? Opps - ebay rating down the toilet.

There is no resurgence, just a couple of dubious companies trying to sell their "system" and promising people that they can get rich overnight. I have seen the promo videos - lots of bling and fist fulls of monopoly money.

Drop-shipping itself as a model is not necessarily bad, but finding good cheap suppliers is always going to be a big problem.

Fair points, but a £12 course has addressed all of them. 10 months on, my ratings are STILL 100% positive, and I'm completely within ToS for both companies.

    Hi,

I thought I’d share this from my recent experience in online surveys. I went a bit mad to start with and signed up to quite a few, so hopefully this will help people choose the right one(s) for them and not time-waste with the others.

First off, a caveat: a lot of the surveys you are invited to depend on the demographics of the respondents. In a few ways I am not in the middle of the bell curve shall we say, so the surveys I got offered and completed may not be indicative of what anyone else would get. Nonetheless, there are a few things which will still hold true, whether you are a single dad of 5, a married airline pilot living with your parents, or a couple who live in a detached house in Central London.

I'll arrange by company first, and then do overall comparisons. In no particular order:

    1. Swagbucks (SB)
    100 swagbucks = £0.60 in amazon vouchers (165 points per £)
Average award per 20 min survey was about 12p for me (including surveys where I either got disqualified, wasn't quick enough, or didn't fit the demographic), but you can boost it with other actions (which all take time, too much time IMO). Chance to bomb out part-way through a survey is average, and the number of surveys available at any one time is well above average.
    Overall pence/hour: 40p
£5 threshold before cash-out - 3 weeks delivery (for an evoucher!) plus a strange 1-time only postcard verify system which I suggest you do as soon as you get to £5 because it takes ages and is subject to postal service reliability.

    2. Global Test Market (GTM)
    100 Marketpoints = £2.88 in amazon vouchers (34.68 points per £)
Average award per 20 min survey is about 93p, and there is no way to boost that. Bomb-out chances were lower than normal. Number of surveys available is above average.
    Overall pence/hour: £2.80
£30 threshold before cash-out - 2 weeks delivery on evoucher

    3. Opinion Outpost (OO)
    100 Opinionpoints = £5.00 amazon (20 points per £))
Average award per 20 min survey: 60p
    Bomb-out chance is above average
Number of surveys available is average
Overall p/h: £1.20 (this is lower than the straight maths due to higher occurrence of bombing out after completing a survey - you will come to hate SSI Verify - no matter how honest you are being)
    £5 threshold before cash-out - instant delivery

    4. I-Say from ipsos (IS)
    100 ipsos points +£0.72 (138 points per £)
Average award per 20 min survey: 10p
Bomb out chance is below average
Number of surveys available is below average
    Overall p/h: 30
    £10 threshold before cash-out - instant delivery

    5. Toluna
    100 Toluna points = £0.02 (5333 points per £)
Average award per 20 min survey: 14p
    Bomb out chance is average
Number of surveys available is average (to clarify, there are tons of surveys available, but if you try to go for them all you will bomb out much more often - stick to the ones you are offered directly)
    Overall p/h: 42
£15 threshold before cash-out (£5 for non-amazon vouchers) - not quite instant delivery

    6. YouGov (YG)
    100 yougov points = £1.00 (100 points per £)
Average award per 20 min survey: 50p
Bomb out chance is much lower than average
Number of surveys available is much lower than average
    Overall p/h: £1.50
£50 threshold before cash-out - goodness knows what the delivery will be

    7. Valued Opinions (VO)
They pay in pence, not points, so it's a straight 1:1, kinda like YouGov
Average award per 20 min survey: 80p
    Bomb out chance is average
Number of surveys available is average
    Overall p/h: £2.40
    £15.50 threshold before cash-out (£10 for non-amazon vouchers) - instant delivery

It's somewhat obvious that VO and GTM paid better than the others. They also got the type of survey I would be appropriate to answer better than the others. VO paid quicker than any other. The sheer number of bomb-outs during OO surveys got really annoying after a while, so despite their really quick pay-outs I'm not continuing with them (plus they're tight!). YG just sits in the background - it'll take me a year to get to the £50 threshold before I can cash-out (the highest threshold), but it's not hard, and not time consuming. I won't be continuing though, even though the chances of a mid-survey disconnection (where the survey just stops working) is lower than on any other site. SB and Toluna are complete time wasters. As soon as I was able to cash out on those I did so. IS is kinda better as the bomb-outs were not very often, but still, they don't pay well (and IPSOS surveys are on GTM and VO anyway!)

And that's about it. I hope this helps someone! Would be happy to discuss.

    Hi,

    2.Global Test Market (GTM)
    4. I-Say from ipsos (IS)
    7. Valued Opinions (VO)

And that's about it. I hope this helps someone! Would be happy to discuss.

Having completed online surveys for several years I have come to almost exactly the same conclusions as MaffyD :T

I love your Bomb out chance statistics which I agree are spot on

The only other sites I would recommend are Mysurvey & PopulusLive

    Using MaffyD scoring format

    MYSurvey

    30 mins = 110 points = £1 (points do vary slightly )
very similar to Global Test Market
Bomb-out chances were lower than normal.

I don't get them for 3 weeks of the month then I can get a glut in the 4th week (yesterday I got 7 which earned me over £5 in one session)
    £5 threshold before cash-out - 1 to 2 weeks delivery on evoucher

Verdict - As it has a £5 threshold for payout its well worth considering

    PopulusLive

    £3 for 10 minutes
Average about one survey a week (sometime 3 on one day then nothing for 3 weeks)
Bomb Out Chances - next to none

£ 50 automatic cash out - cheque sent to registered address,
cheques are only issued at the start of each month (the month after you reach the threshold)

Verdict - A slow burner but well worth doing
very few survey but what you get easy to answer & pay well for the time they take

It can take 6 to 8 months to get enough to cash out however the surveys are very simple and quick to complete that I don't mind waiting

    Global Test Market

This is by far my best earning survey site
product testing is an excellent earner once every 2 months on average
5 day forum based surveys are my favourite
typically you have to complete 3 to 4 simple tasks per day giving you opinions, these typically earn £10 to complete, you get nothing for partially completing the survey. often there are prizes for post of the day or best post over the 5 days
getting the prizes mean writing more than yes no responses and sticking to the point

My one and only correction to MaffyD's post is that cash out is availiable at £30 not £40, you need to have over 1000 points according to GTM (the actual minimum is 1041 = 1 x £25 + 1 x £5)
Sorry MaffyD hopefully I have paid you enough complements for you to let this one minor complaint slide (Witness Protection on speed dial just incase)

    Verdict
GlobalTestMarket is easily my favourite site
    surveys are regular
Product tests are fun and pay well as well as getting products for free
If your willing to put a bit of effort in Forum surveys are well worth completing, One five day survey earned me £35 for 3 hours (£10 for the survey 2 x £10 prizes for daily post awards)

I can't improve on the descriptions of I-Say & Valued Opinions so eloquently written by MaffyD
Instead I will just add my list of top sites in order (favourite site first)

    GlobalTestMarket (Voucher £30 payout threshold)
Valued Opinions (Voucher £15 payout threshold )
    I-Say (Voucher £10 payout threshold)
    Mysurvey (Vouchers £5 payout threshold)
    Populuslive Survey (Cheque Only)

Although I have used Amazon vouchers in my comparisons, other vouchers are available some with lower payout threshold tahn with Amazon Vouchers (too many to list)

    Cashback from Survey Sites

It's worth signing up to the survey sites (including the bad ones) via a Cashback site

    Topcashback currently (19/10/2014) pays

85p to sign up to Populuslive
£1.71 to sign up to Mysurvey
70p to sign up to NewVista
£2.02 to sign up to Nielsen

So its possible to earn £5.26 just by signing up to the survey sites
    (obviously read the small print)

I would go on about how to make the most of Cashback sites but that's a conversation for another day
    I hope this helps
