Inkjet printer with cheap compatible ink cartridges

It's been a long time since I last bought a printer, i've had two Epson's in the past and they've served well, and cheaply too
My Epson Stylus 830 has pretty much given up on me, which is reasonable timing as the bulk ink supplies I bought for it are now low.
I'm looking for a basic inkjet printer with cheap ink being the priority, are Epson still the 'go-to' brand for this? or do people just use refilling kits now?
TIA

Currently I have an Epson Stylus SX130 printer and use
Premier Ink as supplier for ink cartridges. They are quick, cheap and have excellent customer service.
Currently compatible set of 4 inks cost under £17 and Epson
(offer price) £26.99 a set so I'm happy this doesn't cost me a fortune. It's very rare for a compatible cartridge to be rejected but P/ink always replace/refund with no problems.
No, not a rep for Premier ink, just a happy customer who believes in giving credit where it's due:D0 -
Watch for Epson XP Printers as their compatibles are expensive at the moment.
Try for the SX range in you can find one0 -
I'm not too bothered which make/model to be honest, it'll just be for basic letter and document printing.
Back when I bought the Stylus 830 (5 years +) Epson's were the best choice for cheap ink as you could get around 3 compatible sets for the price of 1 branded.
£17 vs £27 dosent seem that great, any other ideas?0 -
This is worth a look, though make sure Argos give you the SX235W and not an XP printer because of the compatibles availability

I think we have a winner!
£45 to get a wireless all-in-one printer with three sets of inks is bloody awesome
Thanks a lot mateThis is worth a look, though make sure Argos give you the SX235W and not an XP printer because of the compatibles availability

Have you considered this ?

I have had this fitted to my Canon for months now, have still not used half the ink in the storage bottles.
It may look to be "too good to be true" - but it isn't.0 -
Nope, but only because i've never seen one until now, thats pretty neat.
Already got a SX235W reserved, but upon reading reviews on some of the newer Epson models, and how they fly through cartridges I think i'll give them a call tomorrow.
