My husband & I previously had Stock & Shares ISas to cover an interest only mortgage and I recently had a phone call from a claims management company letting me know that I could claim compensation for ISA mis-selling either from banks or your financial advisor. Does anyone know anything about this?

How would a claims company, whom don't have access to your point of sale file, have any idea if you were mis-sold or not ?

A S&S ISA to cover an interest only mge (f you have at least a medium ATR), isn't a mis-sale on the face of it.

Do YOU believe you were mis-sold, if so why ?

    Hope this helps

The claims company will tell you all sorts of things to get you to generate a complaint. Their sales reps no nothing about you or what the files say. They are just looking for a commission.

S&S ISAs were very common for interest only mortgages. Indeed, they were more tax efficient and lower cost than endowments and had more moved that way earlier, then people may still be using them today.

What would be your reasons for complaint?

Never trust these cold-callers. They are scammers. They will charge an up-front fee then do a runner.
