Would these certs count for anything?

Im currently looking into different options for a career change.
One im considering is welding.
Would either of these certificates count for anything.
C&G 3268 award in welding skills level 1
(Presumably just a piece of paper meaning nothing really).
C&G 3268 award in welding skills level 2
(Next one up but does it still mean nothing?)
They are both short courses and id be willing to do them as an aid to get onto higher courses.
Any welders out there that can give me an idea of what the best options are? Im trying to do this part time if possible but im also looking into if i can afford to go full time.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers, Mark

would you consider contacting a local company and getting work experience? may be more worthwhile so you know for sure that's what you want to do.
also, check how much theory and practical is on that course. practical would obviously be more beneficial to an employer but theory is important too.0
