Redundacy looming - worried about new jobs with credit checks

Hi ,

I work in a company where redundancy is looming so I am looking at what jobs are out there .

I had some debt agencies after me (can check my other posts for details ) where I asked for CCA's etc as they had added on ludicrous charges . They did not reply so they are still outstanding ( i believe i defaulted in 2007 )

I also had some late payments to Catologues and a credit card over last few months as been having some financial difficulties but have now paid these off .

My question is - The jobs i am looking for are in financial industry - call centre for banks etc as I currently work in that field . All the jobs vancancies say credit check - does this mean I should not be going for these as they would not hire me ? Getting quite worried my credit rating is going to make it impossible to find another job !

Thanks in advance

rachael

  • You should be ok if you have no IVA, Bankruptcy down to unsettled CCJ's which it sounds like you haven't got! so that is one up already :)

I've also been told it's honesty that counts for a lot (though it is very easy to say) and from my own experience if you think you should be ticking Yes to something you should probably do it...

Feel free to look back at my postings after trying for insurance - currently in the dog house for it and all that!

Best of luck - I'm sure you'll be ok,
thing is you just won't know until you try and everyone is different x
  • Thanks for response - makes me feel a little better ! I assume i dont have ccj's - would i know if i did?
  • Good ! : ) I am glad

The novice in me on this one about CCJ's, I would say you known (if you haven't moved address) as court papers usually one of the first signs it's progessing that way
Good place to look I suppose is your credit report, get copy if in any doubt
