In a mess at the moment. The overdraft has been maxed out and I know owe the bank about £1,500 thanks to a £800 energy bill, which is £500 over the overdraft. I've had a credit card in the past but paid it off and got rid of it, and never taken out a loan before or. The bank now say they will stop all direct debit payments at the end of the month and charge me £150 when the wages go in until the overdraft has been paid off. I have tried to apply for a £2,000 Zopa loan but I've been rejected. I think the fact the house I live has such a bad history thanks to previous owners and the amount of debt collection battles we've had to fought with unknown people still sending their debts here. I don't know what to do/who to lend with.

Try posting a full SOE (statement of affairs) over at the Debt Free Wannabee board.

They are very good at suggesting ways to cut your monthly outgoings down to an affordable level.

It isn't the address which is in a mess, it is your bank account.

Credit files are about people, not doors and windows.
You have maxed out your overdraft and owe a lot more besides, that is why you are unable to get a loan.

You can still lend with zopa though but you're better off waiting until you have some spare cash..
