Getting copies of your marriage certificate on the day and after.

I have heard that on the day you can get a copy of your marriage certificate for £4? Does anyone know if we can get more than one on the day?
I ask as straight after the wedding (literally next day) we want to be updating everyone, sort passports, my fiance's visa etc before we take our honeymoon
If we can only get one copy on the day, does anyone know how long we would have to wait before we can apply online at the registration office website for the copies? (Or does this vary at every registration office?)
Thanks!:o

you can request as many copies as you want/need ...I believe when you confirm the formalities with the registrar they will ask you how many copies you would like....or if they dont automatically do that then you can say "we would like x copies please"....and you will be billed accordingly
if you require extra copies after the wedding then they can be obtained and I believe the fee if £10 per copy so its certainly worth woprking out how many you will need....although remember that lots of places will just take a copy of your certificate and forward it on to their relevant depatment for processing...ie banks so you wont need lots and lots of certified copies.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Ah excellent!
So it's probably cheaper and better if we get the certified copies at £4 each on the day of the wedding instead of £10 each after?
Would the registrar actually give us the written 3+ copies on the day? Just imagining her/him sitting there writing them all up...:p0 -
Sorry just jumping on your thread!
Do you have to pay for them on the day?0 -
in the area where I live....when you fill out all your details with the registrar before the marriage...where you confirm name and details to be included on the certificate...you are asked how many copies you think you will need and charged at that point for them...this means you dont need to pay on the day.
You are then given one of the copies that you sign and any additional copies are usually in the printed only format.
It may not be the same procedure in all areas of the country...but I boarder 3 different areas who all operate the same systemfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
