Impossible task???

Hi,
I am just knitting my newphew a scarf at the moment and it has pockets at the end and this got me thinking,

Could i possibly knit or make anything with personal photos on?? even if i have to print the photo over onto material or something and include that in the knit--or i can do a bit of crafting,

I do 2 newphews (age 13 and 10) and a Niece (11--very girly) hampers for christmas and just thought it would be nice to make them something they could keep or a scarf etc with there dogs on--i know i can get anything printed from photo shops---t-shirts cushions etc--but just thought it would be nice if it was hand made--but i cannot find anything that gives me ideas or instuctions so thought i,d ask if you lot had any idea.s instead?
