Worries about mortgage application with old CCJ

Hi Guys,
I would like to get a mortgage in a couple of years, however I have a CCJ from 2008 which is due to drop off my file in August next year.
When I come to apply for a mortgage in 2015, would I still have to declare the CCJ to the lender?, even though it would have dropped off my file by then? The CCJ was for £308
Thanks in advance guys

If the question is asked. Have you ever.........?
Then failure to declare is technically fraud.
So either use a broker or make enquiries prior to submitting an application.0 -
If you have a 15% deposit, you could get a mortgage tomorrow - presuming thats the only issue, not with every lender, but im sure a few would be happy to look at you.
But as Thrugel says, it depends on the question asked. Some people tend to make assumptions and they either say too much or lie to try and hide things.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I'd never even think about lying! - SO if it's the case of 'Have you ever' then I'd need to declare it, but if it's a question of 'Have you got' then if it's not showing on my file then I would just answer with no. Pretty straight forward, thank you!

I'd think about lying, but not for very long, ultimately it's about risk and reward as well as an absolute assessment of honesty.0
