Do I push for unsuccessful letter?

In a situation where I was due to start work according to an informal email received earlier this week, which was then withdrawn yesterday morning (was expected) BUT by telephone conversation - I got the feeling the recruitment agency won't put this in writing, I asked, well pleded twice and whilst I don't really want to see anything more of this (what you don't see can't hurt further) I realise this could help greatly in a position of current sanction - prove I really shouldn't have been in a job that involves a credit check - well at the moment unless that is more ignorance
the recruitment agent has said they may be back in touch once the DRO settle date comes round... as wrong as that seems I hadn't considered this in my masterplan to get to the truth and so feel I have no comeback if it means I could get a job in the future
I've no idea how to play this, I approached CAB which took a lot (past history and all that) about the sanction, but they said they can't help - I don't know where to go next, I loath to keep quiet that I failed a credit check but I've nothing to back me up
Before anyone starts I think the question is the title of the thread if that makes it easier! lol!
Opinions & views over what to do gratefully received

Could you write to the agency yourself, to thank them for the telephone conversation, express disappointment that your job offer was withdrawn and then confirm that you would be delighted to be considered in the future etc. Leaves the agency in no doubt that you can handle situations professionally.
Get free proof of posting, and then provide a copy of the letter and proof of posting as your evidence against your sanction?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
