Just transfer the money back to your mother and get her to say it was a mistake and she had just meant to transfer £ 200 to pay for your childrens school clothes. Just say shes a bit dizzy and confused and paid the wrong amount.

    This.

I think it sounds very plausible! If you transfer £1,800 back to her and keep receipts for purchases made with it.

could even drop a line to the OR explaining the mistake, just to keep him in the loop. Its not like he could actually disprove your mothers explanation now is it.

Unless he's reading this of course! :p
All my friends and neighbours helped me pack and move for free, at first I was happy until I got told no one liked me and they just wanted to make sure I left. Thanks Mum and Dad.

Not such a daft statement either. Just before my br I asked a question concerning my racing bike. I totally innocently forgot all about it until the examiner right at end of interview said, may I ask about your bike!
luckily for me its not worth much(only to me) and examiner knew it was a genuine mistake but, someone must have seen my post on here. so honesty is best

how would your receiver possibly know it was you who was talking about a pushbike. Im assuming you dont post under your own name with your address in your signature. In a case like this, honesty is definitely not the best policy, the poster would be 2k worse off.
  • Sorry to be naive but someone on here has told me in the past that gifts of money do not have to be declared to the OR? My parents give me money quite often, the RLTU asked about this when my IPA was last recalculated and did not make any comment when I explained where the money was coming from??

Traveller is this a fact about the O.R being informed on bank balances? I save for yearly things car insurance etc and that can build up after a time I have never heard a thing from my trustee.
    Anyone else??

After supplying my bank statements for the actual BR, I never heard a peep from the OR for my year of BR. I'm now over half way through a 36 month IPA and still have not heard a peep.

Only time I had to supply bank statements was when I asked for IPA to be reassessed, and then they only asked for bank statements for the last three months.

Whatever you decide to do, hope it works out for you.

because my name was different then and they put two and two together.
In my opinion and only mine it is because if found out it will just be worse. It is of course totally up to the op what they do
