Freezing food...how long for?

Hopefully this is the right part of the forum. I have a lovely leg of lamb in the freezer but its been there for probably 2 years...Is it still ok to defrost, cook and eat? I'm not sure on the exact date, could be 2 1/2 years but not any longer than that (and it was frozen on/before its use by date).
Thanks!
Thanks!

Well, I don`t know about lamb, but I had a duck in my freezer in the shed for over 4 years.:o
We had it for dinner recently and it was absolutely fine.
Enjoy your lamb.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

It may have deteriorated a little in quality but, as long as the freezer has maintained the right temperature over the time period, it will be perfectly safe to eat it.0

It wouldn't have got as far as the freezer here

Cook it and enjoy it, it'll be lovely.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I find that meat which has been in the freezer for more than a year or two (even if well wrapped) tends to get freezer burn patches, which are best removed (can be fed to a pet) before cooking as they taste a bit odd & the texture is wierd - but it is still perfectly safe to eat if it has been frozen the whole time.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0
