Daily Mail article about the recent RM hikes - catching up a bit late but I'm glad this is getting a bit of newspaper space as I suspect most of my buyers are unaware of it still. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2311908/Royal-Mails-stealth-tax-posting-parcels-Small-businesses-despair-packaging-bills-double.html

I was surprised at how little coverage there had been of some quite massive changes.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. How unusual scaremongering in the Daily Mail;) I'm not sure I want my postal service getting paid £2.70 to handle a large box of cup cakes from one side of the country to the other anyway. They could have 200 large letters in the same space.Good article , reminds me why I don't but news papers any more ........

One of the bigger problems is that consumers just go in the post office to send a parcel without knowing of other options, so end up paying way over the odds.
It's a shame they don't actually bother to do a proper report, rather than just the headline information. With information for customers as to where else they can go to send parcels.
A recent report in there about Amazon price rises had quite a few inaccuracies, not least comparing Amazon fees with those of Ebay.com, which are quite different to UK Ebay..0 -
I sent my mum a nice "slightly bigger than usual, but not huge" card for mother's day - thought it'd look special/cheery. When I visited her in her care home, it had a fat sticker on the front charging £1.09 for insufficient postage. It was only a bl00dy card!!0

I think you are about 8 years out of date
That's to do with pricing in proportion, standard sized mail would be 60p first class, large letter 69p, so the difference was 9p plus £1 handling charge.

It most likely advised me it would be classed as a large letter and given this pricing system is now been in place for over 7 years,it really is my own fault
I blame the parents0
