There is nothing else she's claimed, she was really reluctant to claim the B/A, There are no other benefits.

Probably because it included a refund for the tax she overpaid last month. Next month is likely to be different if she doesn't get a move on and phone HMRC about getting on the correct tax code.

Hi Guys,

Sorry not been updating but been on hols, anyway it's finally good news for MIL. Just before we went I called HMRC helpline and spoke to some really helpful folks who when I explained the situation said actually they thought the fault was theirs they had miscalculated tax based on they thought MIL had a second job, was of pensionable age and still receiving bereavement allowence. They also explained that they had MIL's wrong birth date on file and so we sent or the docs in to rectify this.
Any way the long and the short of the story is that she has received a HMRC cheque for £1248.92 and £108.32 in her wages last week. Her tax code is now current for this year so finally things are sorted. Bless her she's struggled this long that she treated herself to a new £40 PAYGo mobile and the rest has gone into a new savings account. Just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your wisdom and knowledge we couldn't have done it without you. :j:j:j
