Meeting minutes

I have a colleague who has been in an attendance management meeting recently and has been misquoted in the meeting minutes. She amended the quotes to match what actually happened and sent them back to HR and management who said they can't be changed and they will be kept on file.

Is there any law covering this? If ever she was to go to tribunal they would be using false information.

Any point in the right direction would be a great help!!

Meeting minutes are an important document and should not be changed.

However, they can be added to, if someone feels that their is a discrepancy than that can be added and included as an amendment. The original document must remain intact and the addition attached to it.

Meeting minutes can be changed if all parties agree the correction.
If there is disagreement then, particularly for Personnel/HR matters, the dissenting view should be included in the file - so that in any future action it should be disclosed.
