I haven't been budgeting. I had a bit of a stress meltdown in February, followed by a week off work where I thought I'd recharged, followed by some professional exams, followed by another stress meltdown...
Well, in all of that, I pretty much have just been treading water financially. I haven't gone further into debt, but I haven't been paying it down either. So time to get back on track. My dog has a broken tooth that isn't bothering her at the moment, but the vet says it could abcess, and since it's a canine, will need a root canal rather than just extracting. If it does get infected, I'll have to put it on a credit card, but since she is still happily munching on crunchy food, I'm going to try and save up for it. (The vet estimates it will be £1000, but he wouldn't be doing the work--I'd have to go to a specialist, so I don't know how accurate that estimate is.)
Meanwhile, the stress meltdown put a temporary stop to my main source of extra income, doing overtime. The stress has been almost entirely related to my work environment, and I ended up in tears at my desk because I was overwhelmed by my boss asking me to make a trivial decision. Luckily the management was more understanding than I expected, and tried to help, and after a few discussions, I finally realized that what I needed was just more space. After a refurb last fall, they put the desks too close together, and I've been in a constant state of anxiety from it. They realized the mistake, and will be spreading out the desks at some point, but no time table is fixed. In the meantime, I asked for, and got, a desk move to a place with an empty desk behind me, and that made so much difference that I did 6 hours of overtime last week with no ill effects. Yay me!
So anyway, after not dealing with my debt for a few months, I want to say I'm back and dealing again. Not my first setback, and probably not my last, but I will keep coming back because I *so* want to be debt free.

Hi! I've started again (again) a few times now and I've found each time I get that little bit stronger and better with money
Fantastic that you've not got into more debt and also of course that you know what was causing the stress and importantly, that something's been done about it!

Thanks! It feels good to be back, and yes, I should be very proud of myself that the debt did not get grow. Come to think of it, that's never happened before during a setback. w00t!Hi, I'm Mich
