Gold...Full house...

Over on the forum hpc.co.uk, most people do not have any gold. Most of them do not have much.
The few that do have gold fear a gpc.co.uk the way the denizens of the House Prices Debate and blah blah board do an hpc.
Personally I wish i had bought gold in 2007. I wanted to, I even read some of the threads in hpc.co.uk about buying it, and clicked some of the flashing gold banner ads.
But I basically chickened out. I didn't understand how transferring thousands of pounds to the bank account of some company called Bullions-R-Us.com or something, who would supposedly store it for me in Switzerland and buy it back from me when I wanted to cash in, without me ever seeing it - could possibly be safe.
So I kept my savings in the bank and watched it depreciate every year with inflation.
And this is why people of limited means dont make big money, we cant afford to risk it, so we dont.0 -
and at some point in the future, I'll still be able to show my face around here.
