Does anyone know anything about applying for consent to let on an existing residential mortgage?
I would like to know how long you have to have had the mortgage before most lenders if any allow this. I work away a lot and do not want to be restricted should I ever want to let the property out for a year or so.

I think the general rule is 6 months, but it is consent your asking for - even if it has been 10 years there is no guarantee they will accept it.
There can be other criteria just as the LTV being below 75%, you may incur a rate rise and/or fees for transferring over.
