Not sure if this is the right place fo this, so I apologise if its not.
I wanted to know if it is possible to change the name on a debt that has been passed to a debt recovery agency.
For example, if my boyfriend had a bill that wasnt paid & was passed to an agency, would it be possible to change the name & address in to mine?

No, basically, this is the story:
My boyfriend had a stupid moment & took out a contract phone in his name, but for his friend to use. His friend soon after lost his job & couldnt pay the bill. Instead of them calling the phone company to sort something out, they let it carry on & its now gone to the debt collectors. Obviously my boyfriend doesnt want this in his name so I wanted to know if its possible to switch it into his friends name?0 -
i doubt it because as far as the phone company see it way in your bf's name and he is leagally responsible for the debt.
the fact that it was given or tecnically loaned to a friend is not there fault.
The only way is cant you pay it and caim from the friend in instalments and agree what ever amount with the debt collector to clear the debt?:j WILL GET THERE SOON :j

Why would you have this debt in your name? Would the friend be willing to accept the debt?SSB
