CPA's and bank accounts

hello,

I sent my bank (co-op) a letter in february asking them to stop any CPA's on my account.

Last week one was taken, I had to call up and raise a dispute for the money to be credited within 3 working days...

Is this the correct process or on receipt of the letter should they automatically stop any payments from going out?

I've also posted this in the loans board as i wasn't sure which was more appropriate

IMO you need to be specific about what you cancel.
A letter saying cancel all CPA will be impossible to police - what if you change your mind in the future?

Best way to stop is not to give them in the first place.

Weren't the answers to the same question you posted in the Budgeting And Bank Accounts forum acceptable to you?

Hence why you had to post it here!!!!

Do you see this as a simple solution to having to repay your debts?

    What is your actual problem?
  • It's not possible for them to actually stop them going out of your account, they have to charge the item back once it debits. You would be better being more specific as their disputes team can monitor accounts if they know what continuous auths are going through your account. The absolute best way tomcancel something through the company itself. Although I notice you say you have also put this query in the loans section, if you are trying to cancel payday loan repayments my advice would be to stop trying to avoid paying back money a company has given you, it isnt right and it will bite you on the bum eventually.
