Job Application Questions

Hi everyone,
I was told on here the other day that I can always ask on here for inspiration/help when answering job application questions if I need it, so having found a job on the apprenticeship site, I am now doing the application.
The job is an apprentice administrator, and there are two questions I would like to know the best way to answer them, or what kind of thing to say:
1. How do you prioritise your workload?
2. What is good customer service and why is it important?
Thank you.

1> I prioritise my workload by making a list of things I need to tackle and complete them in order of importance. Having said that this list can be adjusted during the day if more important things come in. This way each task has 100% of my attention. I look at my desk at the end of the day and write a list for the next morning.
2 > Good customer service means helping customers efficiently, in a friendly manner. It's can set your business apart from the others of it's kind. It is anticipating your customers needs.

I prioritise by always taking 15 minutes to plan at the beginning of the day, I open the mail first so I know what needs dealt with urgently, I check my e-mails for those marked urgent, I check mine and colleagues diaries to see what the shape day looks like, and whether I will be required at key times to greet guests or cover for colleagues. I then structure all other tasks around this plan.
Customer Service - Customer Service is the cornerstone of every organisation, paying attention to customers needs and ensuring they are fully met is the secret to a successful organisation. I do this by being friendly, by listening closely, by communicating clearly and always ensuring I do what I said I would do.0 -
Thank you !
What kind of thing could you put for Why did you apply for this role ? It's a business admin apprentice, main reason I have applied is because I had experience of working as an admin assistant last year and enjoyed the work. But that just sounds like a rubbish reason. Haha.
Also, strengths and qualities are the same thing aren't they ? Because I have already answered a question saying what my strengths are, but on the same application there is another question saying what qualities can you bring to the role.0 -

why did you apply - I really enjoy doing administration and I have considered college, however an apprenticeship where I can learn on the job with a great company like yours is much more attractive to me, as I think that by working hard, I will be getting skills, experience and qualifications and in return can make a real contribution to your business.
Strengths and qualities are not the same!!
Strengths - organised, able to prioritise, motivated.
Qualities - honest, ethical, friendly,0 -

strengths I would say are practical skills that are relevant to and would be used in a job.
Some general examples could include - a good working knowledge of spreadsheets, can speak a foreign language, specific experience in a particular trade, a professional qualification, etc etc
Qualities I would look for when I recruited staff for routine office jobs included : attention to detail, ability to manage your time, willingness to work as part of a team, take responsibility for own work
communication (verbal and written) would probably apply to both.
Why did you apply for this post ? one thing is to know why you "chose" that company. Have you googled them for some info, was there something that particularly interested you about them ?
Good luck - let us know how you get on

When your researching the company its very useful to see if they publish anything around "Behaviours" as that will give you a better idea how to frame your answers.
Depending on the company glassdoor.com can give some useful insights about interview techniques and types of questions asked from existing and past employees. Although it tends to be the bigger companies and organisations.0
