Okay, so my veg box came with a huge bagful of long green beans - I don't even know the proper name for them- are they just green beans?
So what can I do with them other than boil and serve as a side or poss put in minestrone?
Thanks guys, being Scottish I don't know about veg!!! (only joking in case any other scots get angry)

I think they must be Runner Beans... they are positively my all time favourite vegetable . The only way I eat them is to slice them thinly and steam them I really can't think of anything else to do with them but they are mighty tasty... I am sure there will soon be loads of ideas ....#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

We use normal cooked green beans in a salade niçoise. I've never seen runner beans used in a recipe for this salad but I don't see why you couldn't substitute them in.0

lovely sliced, steamed/boiled and served with some crispy bacon bits (i obviously mean real bacon, not that weird stuff in a tub that you sprinkle on salad!)0
