Alternative work whilst injured

My husband injured his leg 6 weeks ago. He took 2 weeks off and then went back to work. The injury is still persistent and now needs to be referred to a consultant for scans etc.
My husband is unable to do his normal work routine (attending customers sites to fix equipment), but he has offered to go to his head-office and work within the repair centre there, providing he can sit down whilst there.
His head office don't want him to go there, therefore forcing him to take the days off as sick (he doesn't get paid for sick pay).
Does anyone know if he has any come back against the force, as he's willing to work but they're not maing any allowances.
Thanks

Unless he is classed as disabled under the Equality Act (unlikely for a short term injury), he is not entitled to reasonable adjustments. It might be worth asking for a referral to occupational health - whilst they cannot compel the employer to allow him alternative duties, a recommendation from them may help his case.0
