Is anyone out there currently using Phoenix gas for heating etc that used to use oil?
How do they find it compares for ease of use and on cost?

My inlaws switched over to gas 2 years ago. They got a deal which included a discount for 12 months and a discounted boiler. It saved them money because they were getting a loft conversion and were able to offset the cost of the installation against the cost of relocating tanks etc.
The running cost seems to be about the same as for oil now that the discount has finished, however this does not take the sudden price rise for oil recently so it may in fact be quite a bit cheaper than oil right now.
If you need to relace your boiler or are undertaking some renovation type work it probably does make sense.
I don't know what offers pheonix have on at the moment, which might compensate for the initial outlay if you're not getting work done.
Incidentally two years on they are now having reliability problems. Plumber is blaming Baxi, Baxi is blaming Pheonix, Pheonix deny any problems but are happy because consumption has increased.Plenty of mistakes, but no regrets.0
