Hi everyone im a newbie !!

hi
To everyone i have joined on 16-05-07,after reading on with different people debt problems.I found that i am not the only one in this situaton so decided to join in and share any problems in this situation.I did fill bit embarrassed in joining but you people gave me courage so there.

I have been careless in using my credit cards and obtaining new cards as the are easy to get and use,and there been using it pay for my bills and holidays over the past few years and got in the deep end now with debt of £46500 between 17 credit cards:mad:

Last year i saw our citizens advice beaure and they suggested for me to get in touch with PayPlan ,and i did :o

After going through my Income and expenditure with my surplus ,they got my out going from £1200 each month to £133.58 each Month:cool:

I started my plan DMP with PayPlan last year in july 06 and my debt is now £45164.20.Most of the creditors have accepted the offers ,but the only company which is the pain in the b!!t is the MBNA they ring me nearly every other day requesting more since they not accepted the offers ,they also willing to accept £716 as final payment and consider writting the rest off i.e £1500.I rang up PayPlan and they were very nice to me and said do not pay anything ,if you paid them then the other creditors will follow suit.

Has anyone out there had or has this problem.........

please send me y feedback.

Listen to payplan. If you pay off one creditor the others are going to get het up wanting to know why you can't pay them more when you could afford to pay Mbna off like that.

Follow PayPlan's advice - I expect they are sending them the monthly amount based on your pro-rated debts, so the balance will be going down anyway. However, if the phonecalls are getting you down, then refuse to answer security questions, and write to them requesting that they ONLY correspond to you in writing.

    Hi and welcome!

Nothing really to add to what the others have said but from what I have heard, Payplan know what they are doing so just follow their advice. they would have worked out what you can afford to pay and everyone would be paid fairly. Give a creditor a better deal and as soon as the others hear, they will come chasing again.

    Hang on in there!

    Hi!

Well done - u may be a newbie but u seem to have already had ur lightbulb moment and be right on track!!

If u pay them it will make the agreements with all your other debts void and they too will expect payment.

Well done for getting this far!

You can write to MBNA and insist they only deal with you in writing from now on. If you do this, they're legally obliged to comply.

If you want, you can post a Statement of Affairs here (go to the front page of the DFW forum and look at SouthernScouser's 'First timers' post). We can probably help you find a few extra pennies here and there :)

Well done for what you've done so far, there's tons of people here in the same boat that can give you advice, not me unfortunately cos you've already done so much more than me, I might be asking you for advice soon :rotfl:
