Kwik Fit Price Promise.

I am a buyer to trade but even this threw me Yesterday.
Hopefully it will help a few people.
I got a price for an exhaust (Middle & Tail Pipe) for my Car Yesterday from Kwik Fit of £168 and booked it in.
I got another quote from the local autocentre who were not 100% sure what the correct exhaust was but stated either £109 or £119.
On calling Kwik Fit back to cancel due to price of £109 elsewhere the Mechanic quoted within 2 Seconds of thinking. "We will do it for £100 under our price promise".
Job done and invoice does state both the original price which must be genuine on their system and the reduced price I pay.
I guess from this attitude they are taking on all jobs whether profitable or not.

Who says they still don't make a profit at £100? If other companies can do it for £109 who buy in much less bulk than Kwik Fit. The others companies are probably still making more than a £10. I always find Kwik Fit charges well over the odds.

They buy exhausts in for pennies, they are still making money.

I agree they may be highly priced, What I really am getting at is that It may be very easy to knock them down on pricing at the moment without any real effort.
I assume many people in cases where they need quick repairs ie punctures do go with 1st Price Quoted.
At the end of the day if they are honouring a price comparison pledge so easily you cannot go wrong.

the image on the left of this webpage: http://www.kwik-fit.com/free-exhaust-check.asp

mentions the price promise. It's official policy but like Amazon's guarantee its not well publicised.

I'd much rather pay £50 more and have a proper job done on my car than to leave it to the Kwik-Fit cowboys.

I swear the staff are de-trained before they can work there. Sorry but only had bad expereiences from this outfit, trying to sell me brakes and stuff on a nearly new car, etc. Use at your peril.
Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.

Why not go to local company who were cheaper in the first place and support your local businesses
